VIDEO / PHOTOS - Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker To Defend His Title In Dallas,Texas


In less than one week, Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker (22-0-3, 16 K0s) from Dallas, Texas will be defending his WBO/NABO Junior Welterweight belt at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, Texas, against Courtney “Lion Heart” Jackson (17-0, 10 KO's) from Homestead, Florida.

After several defenses of his title, this will be his first defense in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. IN THE RING caught up with Mighty Mo at the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym after his workout and he said "I am ready to get in the ring, I can't wait to defend my title in my hometown."

Mighty Mo is trained by veteran trainer, Vincent Parra, who put together a great training camp for the defense of Mighty Mo's title in Dallas, Texas. The following video shows Parra working with Mighty Mo in the ring.

And a new addition to the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym, where Mighty Mo trains, is David Andrews, who was an instructor and boxing trainer for amateur athletes in England. Now, he brings his athletic expertise to Maple Avenue Boxing Gym where he assists the athletes with muscular stretching and physical fitness.

Mighty Mo will be the main event at the 25th Annual boxing event called “A Knock out Affair” Round XXV, at the Omni in the heart of downtown Dallas, Texas. As a role model for the youth of his community, and always endeavoring to support education, Mighty Mo is excited and honored to be the main event on behalf of The Links Incorporated on the 25th Anniversary of this great organization. It is one of the largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women committed to the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. This fight is also promoted by Roc Nations Sports, in association with Arnie Verbeek and The Undercard Promotions, LLC.

In addition to the main event, four additional fights are scheduled on the undercard, which includes some of the local fighters of Undercard Promotions, which include super featherweight Carlos Adame Jr. from Dallas, Texas, super welterweight Chesley Griffin of Arlington, Texas, lightweight David Fabela from Fort Worth, and welterweight Greg Jackson from Philadelphia who is currently training out of Dallas, Texas.

Tickets for “A Knock out Affair” featuring #HookerJackson start at $150 with tables starting at $1,750. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the first bout scheduled for 8.00pm.
