Roberto Marroquin KO's Ruben Tamayo In Fifth Round

Super Featherweight Roberto Marroquin (28-4-1, 20 KO's) from Dallas, Texas is back on track in the circled square with a big KO against veteran Mexican Ruben Tamayo (26-11- 4) this past Saturday on the Leo Santa Cruz / Chris Avalos championship fight undercard.

This was a follow-up of his last KO stoppage against Jonathan Perez (37-19, 29 KO's) back in June of this year with trainer Robert Garcia, three time RING time trainer of the year.

Marrroquin stepped into the ring against the southpaw Tamayo in what was to be a scheduled eight round bout. He sent Tamayo to the canvas with a right hand in the third round and put Tamayo down again in the fourth round. In the fifth round, Marroquin landed a big left hook to the head of Tamayo and he went down for the last time. The fight was stopped at 1:49 of the fifth round by referee Eddie Hernandez as Marroquin got his second KO of 2017.
