After stopping Patrick Allottey (40-3, 30 KO's) three months ago by TKO, which was his third fight in 2019, undefeated Jaime Munguia (34-0, 27 KO's) from Mexico steps into the ring against Irishman Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan (30-3, 21 KO's) in San Antonio, Texas.
After defending his super welterweight title five times, knockout machine Munguia steps up to middleweight to show this division that a new kid is in town. That is, the town of the middleweight division, which includes Gennady "GGG" Glolovkin (42-0,35 KO's), Jermall Charlo and Demtrius Andrade.
Munguia enters the ring with new trainer Erik Morales, a boxing legend and former world champion. Morales has already made small improvements with Munguia in his defense as seen in his last fight, but it will take time with the mauling Munguia style.
The fight takes place at the Alamodome on Saturday, January 11, 2020 on
DAZN anddigital platform and in Mexico by Azteca 7.
